Once at primary i entered this competition called Sunset Idol. In 2006 i entered but was to shy to sing so i dropped out which was a bit sad because i knew i could do it but i wasn't that confident. So in 2007 i entered again and stuck to it i practised every day at school in the hall and sung to my friends so i will get use to singing in front of people.My nan said that i probably wont go up and sing but i did so she gave me $100 and put $400 into my bank that was pretty cool. I won 1st place singing Umbrella by Rihana and Maharatia and Sybil came in at 2nd place singing its hard to believe from High School Musical at the time me and Maharatia weren't friends.

Science Fair

Science Fair is nearly here and i know what to do thats so cool in my group there is Ngatikaari, Alisha and me and our subject is ''Does the colour of food and drinks affect whether or not we like them?

Our project is called coloured lemonade;

Things we need;
A bottle of lemonade
A few cups
Food colouring

Method;
1st you get 2 cups and fill 1 with lemonade
2ndly you get you fill the other cup with lemonade and 2 drops of food colouring.
3rdly you mix and taste to see the difference.

We are also doing this experiment where you put 2 drops of food colouring in ice-cream and taste to see if it is nice .

1st time at Kaitao Intermediate

Hi my name is Rena and I go to Kaitao Middle School. The first time i came to this school was when i came to enroll myself. As soon as i got to the school my nan said i walk in this school as if i owned the school. February the 4th 2008 was the first time i started this school i was a bit nervous at start but i did like it. My teacher last year was Miss Donaldson she was a nice teacher, The next day the year 8 came it wasn't as scary as i thought it was going to be.On the 1st week i started i knew only about 20 students but by week 5 i knew most of the school. I LOVE KAITAO INTERMEDIATE.

Choir

You all should know what a choir is but if you don't then its a group of people that sing together and they can also have soloist.In the Kaitao choir we are singing I Believe I Can Fly.In the start of the song a boy named Braden sing the start and then the whole choir is singing the chorus. Then the second part me or China-Leigh is singing it. I really want to sing it but if China-Leigh sings it i would be happy for her because me, Ngati-Kaari and Dakota sing the harmony so that's alright.On the 12th of June we have the opening of our hall and the choir would be singing there the song we are going to sing is I Believe I Can Fly.I cant wait i hope that we would be great and Im sure we would be great.

Stage Challenge

Stage Challenge was a blast of a performance. Students at our school were commited to this performance and came back to school looking proud holding 6 trophy's.On the 26th of May the students of Kaitao that were participating in this event went down to the convention center and had a meeting but most people didn't turn up then they had morning tea. When they had finished their morning tea they went in to have the real meeting because everyone was there.Their meeting was finally over so they went inside to watch Forest View high school practice their brilliant performance then went to the Museum. When they got back from the Museum they went to watch Western Heights Primary's practice performance. Its 6.30 pm and our stage challenge group are getting ready to perform they went on stage and gave it their all and it was perfect. I think that they came back in 2nd place i am VERY proud of them and to be called a student from Kaitao Middle School.

Science Fair

Ok the science fair is coming up and i am looking forward to it because I've never participated in such an event but I dont know what the science fair is. Right now Eleanor's sitting next to me and I just asked her what the science fair is and she said that all you need to do is create a scientific project and display it at the science fair. Just that moment I was abit nervous because I thought that I had to create a scientific project by myself but then I asked her Eleanor do we have to do the project by ourselfs and she said no you can do the project in pairs and I said thank goodness for that.

Net Ball is a cool sport

Hi why do i think netballs a cool sport? I think netballs a cool sport because its my favourite sport.This year I play netball for Kaitao Middle School.Every Saturday I walked down to the westbrook netball courts and get ready to play. Most people play to win and some people play to have fun.On the court there are 7 positions which are goal attack, goal shoot, center, wing attack, wing deffence, goal deffence and goal keeper.The positions i mostly play are goal shoot and goal attack. I hope that if you are reading this that you will give netball a go because you will really like the sport. So go out there and have fun.Oh and I forgot to say netballs all about co-operation.

Hi as you know im Rena and this term we kaitaos working on doing speeches and my topic is DIAMONDS. I picked DIAMONDS because they are pretty and girls love them so do ladies.In my eyes DIAMONDS are used to express LOVE.Like in marriage and as a gift.
